I romani smentiscono che hanno inviato spie a Cartagine per rubare i segreti della tinta porporina estremamente ricercata. Il rifiuto dei Cartaginesi di condividere la loro scoperta con il mondo è estremamente pericoloso in quanto il resto del mondo è obbligato a reclutare spie. I Cartaginesi hanno scoperto due individui miserabili che hanno subito confessato dopo averli torturati. I due uomini sono stati crocifissi.
